Sign up for a bike class or community ride to kick start your fall fun in Arlington!

Nothing beats cycling through changing leaves and moderate temperatures with new friends. Returning this fall, we’re offering bike classes and community rides to participants of all levels and styles! Whether you’re looking to bike for transportation, fun or fitness, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s what’s on the starting line for fall in Arlington.

Community Rides

Short, social and fun, our community ride series is an inclusive space for riders of all levels to explore the city.

Saturday, September 16Nauck Civic and Community Pride Day

A casual cruise around the South Arlington community exploring connections to history, the trail network and neighboring destinations. We’ll wrap up the ride at the Drew School and Community Center and be greeted by the Nauck Civic Association’s excellent annual neighborhood celebration featuring music, dance, food and more.

Saturday, September 23Clarendon Day

A sweet social ride along the neighborhoods of the bike-friendly Orange Line corridor. We’ll explore some of its classic hustle and bustle as well as some secret, quiet gems. There’s always something to do in Clarendon, and that’s especially true on Clarendon Day, where we’ll end the ride to wander among the many food, craft or beverage vendors.

Wednesday, October 25Spooky Secrets

A leisurely, family-friendly bike ride around Arlington with fellow friends and goblins! Consider it another excuse to show off your costume, explore hidden graveyards and check out some of the best Halloween decorations in the DC area—all by bike!

Sunday, November 5Valley Fest

Roll down to Shirlington with us and discover different neighborhoods while checking out the trail network and bike infrastructure.We’ll wrap up at the inaugural Valley Fest Street Festival where we’ll celebrate the Four Mile Run Valley Arts and local businesses.

 

City Cycling

Riding your bike doesn’t have to be stressful. Join us for a morning of skills, confidence and community building. You’ll learn specific bike handling skills then take a short ride, where strategies for riding in different road, bike lane and trail situations will be discussed. Bring questions!

Learn to Ride Classes

If you’re an adult that never learned to ride a bike, this is the class for you! Our instructors take students through a progressive curriculum, with the goal of riding with two pedals by the end of the session. No need to be nervous; our intuitive technique has a very high success rate. A bike and helmet are included with your registration. Please note, there are a limited number of discounted class spots for Arlington residents in each class.
