The Arlington Community Bike Ride is on May 27, 2006 and promises to be a blast. This non-competitive cycling event will offer two route options, a 17-mile County Tour and a shorter 9-mile Family Ride. Riders on both routes will experience Arlington's serene trail network and those on the County Tour will also enjoy the County's on-street bike lanes. Registration information is below.

Cost: The cost of the Ride is $15 per person for those who register before May 24. Children 13 and under are free. On-site registration the day of the event is $20 per person. All participants will receive a t-shirt, refreshments, opportunities to make new friends, and a chance to win a new bike! Children also may participate in a Bike Safety Rodeo at no additional cost to learn and practice safe riding skills.
Registration: You may register either on-line or at the Ride. We encourage you to register early as the Ride is limited to 750 riders and participation is limited to a first-come/first-served basis.
Start Time & Location: Check-in for all riders and on-site registration will be from 7:00 - 8:30 am on May 27. The check-in/registration tent will be located mid-block on South 28th Street and will be signed. (View a site plan.) Riders will begin the County Tour at 8:00 am. Riders doing the Family Ride will begin at 8:30 am. Stick around after the Ride for the Best Decorated Bike & Helmet Contest to win a new bike, enjoy live bluegrass music by Orange Line Special, and have lunch at one of many great restaurants.
Location & Directions: The Ride start and finish will be on South 28th Street at South Randolph Street in Shirlington. This location is easily accessible by bike, foot, and Metrobus. In addition, parking is available.
Things to Do to Get Ready: These 8 things will help you get ready for the Ride. Also, safety is always a priority, so wearing a helmet is required. Read on to ensure we all have a fun and safe Ride.
