Safety First!
To ensure everyone has a fun and safe Ride, familiarize yourself with bike etiquette. If you're riding with children, please inform them of the items below:
- Faster cyclists ride on the left and slower cyclists should ride on the right.
- While on trails stay on your side of the trail.
- If you wish to pass a fellow rider, say, "On your left!," and then pass on their left. Notifying fellow riders will prevent any crashes that result from not hearing other cyclists.
- Experienced riders will either point or shake their hand at glass or other hazards on the ground. If you see someone in front of you doing this, look out for a hazard.
- Be aware of other cyclists around you at all times. Don't make abrupt stops or change direction suddenly.
- Do not wear headphones while you bike. Not only does this make it more difficult to hear the traffic around you, it is also illegal.
