The 2007 Arlington & Alexandria Community Bike Ride Rolls on June 3!
The third annual Arlington & Alexandria Community Bike Ride is set for June 3, 2007 and promises to be the best yet! This non-competitive cycling event will offer two route options, a longer Tour of Arlington and Alexandria and a shorter Family Ride. Register for the Community Bike Ride.
Cost: The cost of the Ride is $15 per person for those who register before May 30. Children 13 and under are free. On-site registration the day of the event is $20 per person. All participants will receive a bike bell, refreshments, opportunities to make new friends, and a chance to win one of many new bikes! Children also may participate in the Bike Safety Rodeo at no additional cost to learn and practice safe riding skills.

Registration: You may register either on-line or at the Ride. We encourage you to register early as the Ride is limited to 1,000 riders and participation is limited to a first-come/first-served basis.
Start Time & Location: Check-in for all riders and on-site registration will be from 7:00 - 8:30 am on June 3. The check-in/registration tent will be located mid-block on South 28th Street and will be signed. Riders will begin the Tour at 8:00 am. Riders doing the Family Ride will begin at 8:30 am.
Location & Directions: The Ride start and finish will be on South 28th Street at South Randolph Street in Shirlington. This location is easily accessible by bike, foot, and Metrobus. In addition, parking is available.
Things to Do to Get Ready: These 8 things will help you get ready for the Ride. Also, safety is always a priority, so wearing a helmet is required. Read on to ensure we all have a fun and safe Ride.
Bike Safety Rodeo: A Bike Rodeo is a series of stations, or activities, where adults teach children about safe bike-riding techniques, such as weaving and maneuvering, figure-8s, and slow speed control. To sign-up your child(ren), simply check the Bike Rodeo box on your application, listing the number of participants you would like to participate. There is no additional fee for participation in the Bike Rodeo.
