Back to School Bike Fair

Join BikeArlington in partnership with Trek Arlington, Girls In Gear, Phoenix Bikes and Kidical Mass Arlington at the Back to School Bike Fair!

Get your student ready to bike to school this fall with free bike checks, bike classes, a group ride, giveaways, and more.

This fun event will be for students of all grades and ages.
Free bike checks will be provided by Phoenix Bikes and Trek Bikes to make sure your students’ bike is ready to go. We will also have custom route guidance, maps, and classes to help you and your student feel ready to rock the ride to school this fall.

Event Schedule

10:15-11:45 a.m. – Girls In Gear Free Learn to Ride Class
12:00-1:00 p.m. – Kidical Mass Group Ride
1:00-2:00 p.m. – Phoenix Bikes Fix a Flat Clinic

Confident City Cycling
Sep 17 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Confident City Cycling teaches you the skills you need to ride safely and confidently on streets and in heavily trafficked areas.

The first half of the class will cover important bike handling skills and hazard avoidance maneuvers necessary while riding in traffic. Participants learn skills such as the avoidance weave, quick stop, rock dodge and instant turn, and discuss considerations for sharing space with other road users.

The class ends with an on-street group ride, where participants put their newly acquired skills to the test. Have any questions? Email education@waba.org.

Class Duration: 3 hours

Equipment: Capital Bikeshare Ebike and helmet rental provided for all participants. You are welcome to bring your own Ebike if you wish.

Cost: FREE – WABA members and Capital Bikeshare for All (email us for a coupon)

Halloween Bike Ride
Oct 26 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

REGISTER

Put on your spookiest costume and bring your bike to tour Arlington’s best Halloween lights and decorations! We will ride together at night to check-out the fun, wild, and scary Halloween house setups. This ride will be about 5 miles and will end at Trek Bikes with refreshments.

This ride is very popular so register fast before another person, vampire, or ghost gets your place on the ride.

Schedule:

6:00 p.m. – Meet at Trek Bicycles
6:15 p.m. – Roll out
8:00 p.m. – Return to Trek Bicycle for refreshments

Need to know:

Helmets and lights are required for this ride. We’ll have some lights on hand just in case you need a set.
The pace will be slow and social through mostly flat roads.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy a spook-tacular Halloween ride!

Holiday Lights Ride
Dec 20 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Join BikeArlington and TREK Bicycle Arlington Clarendon for a fun and festive bike ride around Arlington to see some homes in their holiday splendor. Feel free to dress your bike in lots of lights as well!

This will be a no-drop ride of about 5 miles. We will start and end at TREK Bicycle Arlington Clarendon with refreshments.

This ride is very popular so register fast to join in on the holiday cheer.

Schedule:
6:00 p.m. meet at TREK Bicycles for free bike checks.
6:30 p.m. we’ll roll out
8:00 p.m. return to Trek Bike for refreshments
