12 Days of Active Winter Break

BikeArlington, WalkArlington, APS Safe Routes to School, and Kidical Mass Arlington joined together to share 12 kid-friendly activities to keep everyone active and engaged over the holidays.

Every child counts down the days until Winter Break, but parents and caregivers may feel like they are counting the days until it is done! Looking for activities to do? Arlington has so much to offer and what better time to experience it than over the long break. Watch the full video to find out more information about each of the 12 kid-friendly activities that we have presented below.

Enjoy the practice of organizing a walking school bus through resources offered by Arlington Public Schools’ Safe Routes to School program. Take a bike ride or walk to view Arlington’s best holiday decorations. Also, as a Gold Walk Friendly Community, Arlington offers miles of multi-use trails that make getting around incredibly easy. Whether you try one of WalkArlington’s self-guided Sidewalks, catch Arlington Art presenting four poets laureate’s work projected by artist Robin Bell on four Arlington building facades, each Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. in December, or visit a traffic garden, there are so many free and fun activities in Arlington to keep everyone active and engaged over the holidays, in a physically distant, accessible, and walk/bike friendly way.
