Adult Learn to Ride

Our Adult Learn to Ride class is for participants 18 and older who have never ridden a bike before or have not been on a bike in some time. Our experienced Instructors break the skills down step by step to get you on a bike and rolling in no time. Participants learn to start and stop, balance, glide, pedal and steer a bike and progress at their own pace.

BikeArlington and Arlington Art Truck Presents: Interactive Arlington Art Ride

Join BikeArlington and Arlington Art Truck for a beautiful art tour of Arlington! This ride will start and end at the Arlington Art Truck’s pop-up along the W&OD Trail. Together we will ride to three new South Arlington public art displays before returning to the Art Truck to participate in Edgar Reyes’ Interconnected Roots where we learn about the diversity and interconnectivity of our communities and the native plants that grow within them.

This ride will be slow paced with stops along the way to learn about and admire some of Arlington’s beautiful public art. The ride will be about 4 miles on mostly trails and neighborhood streets.

BikeArlington and Friends of Arlington Planetarium Present Tour de Planets

BikeArlington and Friends of Arlington Planetarium partner to present Tour de Planets.

Take a fun bike while learning about the planets with the Friends of Arlington Planetarium as we ‘bike the solar system’ on this 4.5-mile loop around Arlington. We will stop along the way to mark-off the distance as if we were biking from the sun to all the planets in our solar system.

Good To Know

We will go at a slow pace on this family friendly ride with many educational stops along the 4.5-mile journey through space.

Helmets are required at BikeArlington events so don’t forget to bring yours along for the ride.

WalkArlington and BikeArlington Present Bring a Friend W&OD Trail Cleanup

DUE TO A HIGH CHANCE OF RAIN, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY, JULY 23, 9 A.M.-NOON.

BikeArlington & WalkArlington partner to clean up a part of the W&OD Trail on Saturday, July 23. We will make our way down the W&OD, starting near the Barcroft Community Center, setting up our tent on the W&OD Trail at the intersection of a small road named “Barcroft Center” and Four Mile Run Drive. We will pick up trash that accumulates alongside the trail. We will provide trash bags, gloves, trash pickers, drinks and some snacks. We will also have Bike and Walk giveaways.

We will build on the work we did on Celebrate Trails Day, when we cleaned up another section of the W&OD trail.

The Electric Ride at the Arlington County Fair

BikeArlington and WalkArlington Presents The Electric Ride Experience

Test ride an innovative personal vehicle, including e-bikes, cargo bikes, e-scooters, and more at the Arlington County Fair. Enter into our raffle just for giving the devices a try.

We will be on-site at the basketball courts to provide a comfortable, guided experience for your test ride, and to answer any questions you have.

Back to School Bike Fair

Join BikeArlington in partnership with Trek Arlington, Girls In Gear, Phoenix Bikes and Kidical Mass Arlington at the Back to School Bike Fair!

Get your student ready to bike to school this fall with free bike checks, bike classes, a group ride, giveaways, and more.

This fun event will be for students of all grades and ages.
Free bike checks will be provided by Phoenix Bikes and Trek Bikes to make sure your students’ bike is ready to go. We will also have custom route guidance, maps, and classes to help you and your student feel ready to rock the ride to school this fall.

Confident City Cycling
Sep 17 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Confident City Cycling teaches you the skills you need to ride safely and confidently on streets and in heavily trafficked areas.

The first half of the class will cover important bike handling skills and hazard avoidance maneuvers necessary while riding in traffic. Participants learn skills such as the avoidance weave, quick stop, rock dodge and instant turn, and discuss considerations for sharing space with other road users.

The class ends with an on-street group ride, where participants put their newly acquired skills to the test. Have any questions? Email education@waba.org.
