BikeArlington recognizes the power of traveling together, whether biking, walking, or rolling. We’re committed to making it easy for Arlington residents to find ways to get their kids on board with building sustainable mobility habits early.

Bike Trains

A bike train or bicibus is a group of students who ride their bikes together to school, accompanied by adults. Bike trains are meant to help students get to school in a safer, more organized manner, accompanied by adults, with benefits for their health, the community, and the environment.

Benefits of Biking Together

  • Is safer than biking alone
  • Saves time
  • Fosters independence
  • Increases alertness in school
  • Helps the environment
  • and so much more!

Practice in a Traffic Garden

A traffic garden is an interactive and kid-friendly, modeled street where kids can learn the patterns, designs, and rules of the road with actual lanes, intersections, crosswalks, and signs. Traffic gardens help children learn how to behave and interact with other people out on the road. Learn more here about Traffic Gardens, where temporary traffic gardens in Arlington are located, and how to build your own.
