Go with the flow: Ride in the same direction as traffic.
Play it safe: Be careful at intersections; look out for turning vehicles.
Send a signal: Use hand signals to indicate your intentions.
Shed some light: Use lights when you're riding at night or in low visibility conditions.
Use protection: When worn correctly, helmets protect your noggin.
Use your judgment: Ride on sidewalks only when necessary.
Riding on the sidewalk is illegal in downtown Washington, DC.
