Biking for Kids
Individuals are change agents. Together, they are revolutionary.
BikeArlington recognizes the power in traveling together on bikes, walking, and rolling. This is why we’re committed to helping Arlington residents find ways to easily get their kids on board with building healthy habits early.

Start a Bike Train
Want to help get more students in your neighborhood biking? Try starting a bike train. A Bike Train is a student-led group that rides their bikes together to school, accompanied by adults. For more information on how to start your own Bike Train, check out our Bike Train Starter Program
Practice on a Traffic Garden
A traffic garden is an interactive and kid-friendly, modeled street where kids can learn the patterns, designs, and rules of the road with actual lanes, intersections, crosswalks, and signs. Traffic Gardens help children learn how to behave and interact with other people out on the road. Learn more about Traffic Gardens, where temporary traffic gardens in Arlington are located, and how to build your own.
Safe Routes to School
The Safe Routes to School Program is a partnership between the national program, Arlington Public Schools, Arlington Transportation Partners, and several other County Organizations. Be sure to follow @APSsaferoutes to keep up with news and resources related to the school commute.
