BIKE TAKEAWAY:

Not sure what to do during this time of social distancing? Check out some of the ways to use your bike and prepare for going back to the office.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus has made a significant impact on bicycling events and activities around Arlington. But that doesn’t mean you can’t ride your bike around the block, on nearby trails, or on low-stress streets.riding capital bikeshare in crystal city

Brush Up on Your Bike Skills

  1. Since the gyms are closed, this is a great time to ride your bike on one of Arlington’s many trails. Download the Arlington County Bike Map to locate a trail near you.
  2. Ride one of our self-guided routes, like the Arlington Loop.
  3. If you’ve been thinking about using your bike more as transportation when you return to the office or run essential errands, request a Customized Route so you can get to your destination safely. This is a great time to practice your future ride to work while the roads are relatively empty of vehicles.
  4. Bonus: Meet new people during the May Bike Book Club (online.) We’ve moved the event online until we can ride again. Grab a copy of Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and join us on May 30.

We’re Here to Help

We know these are challenging times for our region and nation, but we hope this list allows you to find a way to make this time productive and get some fresh air by bike.
