NAVIGATING ON BIKE

Bike to Transit

Bicycling can be combined with public transportation in Arlington to get you where you need to go. All Arlington Transit (ART) and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) busses are outfitted with bike racks that allow you to conveniently store your bike while riding the bus.

Some Metro Stations also have bike lockers and/or covered bike parking, 24/7 video surveillance, and a Bike & Ride facility. To use these facilities, you must use a registered SmarTrip® card and complete the online registration form.

How To Put Your Bike on A Bus

Bike Parking

Free parking is a major benefit of biking, but always lock up your bike when you are not riding it. Most bikes that are stolen were not securely locked in the first place. Be sure to secure both the frame and wheels with a lock. We recommend using a U-lock combined with a cable for enhanced security and register your bike with Arlington County Police Department.
